Hello and Welcome to our Primary Punchbowl Fall Blog Hop!! We are so excited to share our fall favorites and freebies with you!

I am so unbelievably excited that we are launching our new collaborative blog!! The Punch Bunch is a group of some of the best teachers I have ever had the privilege of meeting and I am so blessed to call them my friends!! Let's get started!!!

One of my most favorite Fall classroom activities is the fall sensory bin! I already love pumpkin spice everything, so of course I had to incorporate it into my classroom!

 And it's SOOOOOOO easy to make! 

Take a large bag of rice. 

Put some in a gallon ziploc bag. 

Add some food coloring. 

Add some spice. 

Add some water. 

Shake it up. 

Let it dry. 

BOOM. 

I use red, yellow, orange, and green (except this year I didn't have red on account I've made Red Velvet Cake. A lot.). 

Inside the sensory bin, I put vocabulary, spelling, sorts, sentences, etc. Lots and lots of ideas and possibilities out there.

Who says Kindergarten gets to have all the fun with sensory bins? Big kids can dig through rice to find "fossil" bones, multiplication facts, facts and opinions, Tarsia pieces, main idea and details, questions to answer - mix it up and have some FUN! No one is ever too old to play and learn!

To help you get started with the sensory bin, I am offering my Brimming With Blends newly updated activity for FREE!!! 

This activity is packed with onset and rimes to help practice with r-blends and l-blends. 

I like to cut the pictures completely out, hide in the rice, and then the students can search through for the rimes that make words with the onset cornucopias.

120 Board Pumpkin Activities!!

I am so excited to share this one with you!!! My kiddos love when I pull out the 120 board because they know that we are about to get up and moving and having fun, all while learning!!

Recently, I found some adorable fall leaves and miniature fall squash at the Dollar Tree. I immediately started thinking about what we could do with these things. I already created and posted my Spin and Subtract game that you can grab for FREE for a limited time and the kids loved it!! 

Now, I've come up with some different activities to do wiht my giant 120 board. 

I bought a Dollar Tree white shower curtain and cut it in half and divided it up into 12 rows of ten. I wrote the numbers 1-120 in black sharpie marker. I first used it last year during Easter time with some wind up chicks and we did Greater Than and Less Than.

Happy Fall Y'all!!! Spin and Subtract fun!!

How's y'alls Fall coming around?? Ours is quite slow if I do say so myself. High temperatures are still keeping in check but the pumpkin flavored everything is everywhere!!

I just wanted to share with you a quick little math game we played this week - Fall themed of course!!

Spin and Subtract!!

The kids loved it!! We used our giant tens frame board (made from a Dollar Tree shower curtain and some duct tape) and some large construction paper leaves to make some subtraction problems. 

First, we spin a spinner two times to get two numbers. 

Then we model the greatest number on the board

We subtract the smaller number and write a number sentence. Take away the eaves and we have our answer!! Everyone kept track of their number sentences on our white boards. 

I also found some fake leaves at the Dollar Tree and placed them in a center with a spinner and a smaller tens frame board. Made a little recording page as well for accountability.

I love seeing the kiddos up and moving and having fun with math! They love the hands on activities and I've got many more to come!
